The Synoptic Gospels
Do you wonder what features are unique to the Gospel of Matthew? To Mark? To Luke?
Are you curious about those "other gospels" that you hear about?
This course looks at what is a gospel, gives a highlight of some of the non-canonical gospels, and lifts up the special
focus of each of Matthew, Mark and Luke.
Term: This course takes place online over 10 sessions (typically once per week). Each session is an hour in length.
Reading: Participants will be reading each Gospel several times over the course; looking at different aspects with each reading.
Cost: This fee for this course is $120
Presentation: The course will be presented online through the GoToTraining platform which allows audio and visual
presentation/interaction. GoToTraining is a free download for participants. There will be discussion as well as lecture in the course. If a participant must miss a session then a recording of the material will be available online to review.
Instructor: Rev. Stephen Wallace. Rev. Wallace is a graduate of Phillips Graduate Seminary and served in congregational ministry for over 25 years.

Participant Comments:
I would have never looked at these three gospels in the way we did. Most of the time after reading one you thought you had pretty well covered all three. It was neat to see the differences between them and how different each author’s style was. --- Jeremy, Nampa, Idaho
It’s a fabulous comparison/contrast of the Synoptics! Living in a city that doesn’t have a seminary – and not being able to drive – I have LOVED taking a religion class online! It’s been the perfect avenue for me in pursuing my license in lay ministry. ---- Laura, Baton Rogue, La
